Privacy Policy
Effective October 10, 2026
Hometown Coffee, LLC operates the Hometown Coffee mobile app and pickup ordering service. This policy explains what information we use, why we use it, and the choices available to you.
Information we use
When you place a pickup order, we use the name, mobile phone number, optional email address, order details, pickup time, and payment token you provide. The mobile app also stores your phone number locally on your device so you do not need to re-enter it each time.
If you use Hometown Rewards, we use your mobile phone number to look up the matching Square Loyalty balance. The app does not create a customer login, password, or account session. The app caches menus, pickup availability, and rewards balances on your device for offline viewing. It also keeps your cart, up to ten recent app orders, and a payment-attempt reference if a payment needs confirmation. Card numbers and payment tokens are not saved in these local records.
If you turn on order alerts, we store a device push token linked to your pickup order for up to 30 days so we can send preparation and ready-for-pickup updates. You can turn off order alerts in the You tab or your device settings. Push delivery is handled by Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and your device's notification provider.
We use Google Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose crashes and unexpected app errors. Crash reports can include diagnostic stack traces, app and operating-system versions, device information, and an installation identifier. We do not attach your name, phone number, email, order contents, card information, payment tokens, or push tokens to custom crash reports. These reports are used to improve app reliability, not for advertising.
Payments and service providers
Payments are processed by Square. The app does not receive or store your card number. Square, Google Cloud, and our service providers process information only as needed to provide ordering, payment, menu, loyalty, hosting, security, and support services. We do not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
How long we keep information
Square retains order, customer, payment, and loyalty records according to its own policies and our merchant relationship. Hometown Coffee, LLC keeps only the operational information needed to process orders, support customers, maintain security, and meet legal or accounting obligations. The app's locally stored phone number can be cleared from the You screen. Contact us for help clearing other saved information.
Your choices and requests
To delete your Hometown Rewards account, open the You tab and choose Delete rewards account. Verify the phone number associated with the account using an SMS code. Google Firebase Authentication processes the phone number for verification and abuse prevention. We use a temporary verification account, then remove it. We aim to complete requests within 7 days, and you can check the request's status in the app. Deletion removes your loyalty points and associated customer profile; legally required transaction records may remain. When this device confirms completion, it clears saved contact details, orders, cart and rewards balances and unregisters its saved order alerts. An unresolved payment-attempt reference may remain until its payment is checked.
Pending deletion requests contain the verified phone number and identifiers needed to locate the records. On completion we remove those personal fields and keep a request status receipt for up to 30 days.
You may ask what personal information we have, request correction or deletion where legally available, or ask us to stop using information that is not needed to complete an order. Contact coffee@springfield.coffee. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated with any revision.
